The Pope’s Last Crusade: Photo and Video

Holy Silence documentary tells the story of the actions – and inactions – of the Vatican in response to the rise of Nazi Germany and the horrors of the Holocaust. The film focuses on officials who attempted to influence the pope throughout this period.

The Pope inaugurates Vatican Radio on February 12, 1931, introduced by Senator Guiglielmo Marconi, the inventor of long-distance radio transmission. (5:30) In Italian with English narration to come.
